The following is all the information needed for obtaining a salesperson license and how @ Home Prep can help pass the state exam!

License Education:
  • 40 hours of prelicensing courses
Continuing Education:
  • 16 hours of continuing education every 2 years
Other Requirements:
  • Must have 2 years experience as a licensed salesperson
Applications: To apply, contact the state of Vermont (802) 828-3228. There is an $50 application fee that must be submitted with the application.
Reciprocity Vermont does not have reciprocal agreement with any other state
Examinations:
  • The testing company is PSI and can be contacted at (800) 733-9267
  • The exam fee is $55
  • Test is divided into two sections, National and State, which comprises 110 questions
  • 4 hour time limit for both sections
  • Topics on the uniform portion of the exam include property ownership, land use control and regulations, valuation and market analysis, financing, laws of agency, mandated closures, contracts, transfer of property, practice of real estate, and real estate calculations.
  • Topics on the state portion of the exam includelicensing, escrow accounts, disclosure requirements, agency definitions and relationships, Virginia fair housing law and regulations, specific acts pertaining to real estate practice
