The following is all the information needed for obtaining a salesman license and how At Home Prep can help pass the state exam!
License Education:Pre-license
- 60 hour fundamentals of real estate class
Post Licensing
- 30 hour salesman "post licensing" course within the first year of obtaining the license
Continuing Education:
- 8 hours of continuing education course work within 2 years
- 2 hours of which must be in federal and state laws affecting brokers and salesmen
Other Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or GED
Applications:
To apply, contact the state of South Carolina at (803) 733-9267. There is an $25 application fee that must be submitted with the application.
Reciprocity:
South Carolina has reciprocal agreement with every state except North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky and West Virginia
Examinations:
- The testing company is PSI and can be contacted at (800) 733-9267
- The exam fee is $63
- Test is divided into two sections, General and State, which comprises 110 questions
- 3 hour time limit for both sections
- Topics on the general section include property ownership, land use control and regulations, valuation and market analysis, financing, laws of agency, mandate disclosures, contracts, transfer of property, practice of real estate, real estate calculations, specialty areas
- Topics on the state specific portion include South Carolina real estate commission and licensing requirements, statues governing the activities of licensees, South Carolina agency relationships and issues
