The following is all the information needed for obtaining a salesperson license and how@ Home Prep can help pass the state exam!
License Education:
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Principles
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Law (must include 18 hours of Nevada law)
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Appraisal
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Broker Management course
- 15 college credits in other real estate related courses such as business, economics, management, accounting, finance, and marketing
- 37 college level units from any college, military education, technical school, etc.
Experience may be used in the place of education
- For every 2 years of real estate licensed experience, 16 college credit hours toward all education with the exception of 45 hours Broker Management and 18 hours Nevada real estate law.
Continuing Education:
- 24 hours of continuing education every 2 years
Other Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Undergo a criminal background check
- 2 years experience as a salesperson

Examinations:
- The testing company is PSI and can be contacted at (800) 733-9267
- The exam fee is $100
- Test is divided into two sections, National and State, which comprises 120 questions
- 3 hour time limit for both sections
- Topics on thestate portion of the exam include property ownership, land use control and regulations, valuation and market analysis, financing, laws of agency, mandated closures, contracts, transfer of property, practice of real estate, and real estate calculations.
