The following is all the information needed for obtaining a broker license and how@ Home Prep can help pass the state exam!

License Education:
  • 336 hours of prelicensing course work
Continuing Education:
  • 6 hours of continuing education courses every year (3 hours of which must be in an approved legal topic)
Other Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Undergo a criminal background check
Applications: To apply, contact the state of Kentucky (225) 925-1923. There is a $90 application fee that must be submitted with the application.
Reciprocity

The Kentucky Real Estate Commission has entered into reciprocal agreement with the following states:

Examinations:
  • The testing company is Pearson Vue and can be contacted at (800) 274-5629
  • The exam fee is $75
  • Test is divided into two sections, National and State, which comprises 135 questions
  • 3 hour time limit for both sections
  • Topics on the general portion of the exam include property ownership, land use control and regulations, valuation and market analysis, financing, laws of agency, mandated closures, contracts, transfer of property, practice of real estate, and real estate calculations.
  • Topics on the state portion of the exam include duties and power of the real estate commission, licensing requirements, statutory requirements governing the activities of licensees, recovery fund, research and education fund, Louisiana civil law system, Louisiana law of agency
